Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur are among a number of clubs scouting Atalanta midfielder Ederson.
Spurs remain active on the market despite the signings of Timo Werner on loan and Radu Dragusin on a permanent deal. The focus now is on a midfielder, and Ederson of Atalanta is on Tottenham‘s radar.
Fabrizio Romano says Tottenham are scouting Atalanta’s Ederson
It is no secret that Tottenham Hotspur are in the market for a new midfielder this month.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg could leave the club in the coming days, while Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr are still away on international duty.
Ange Postecoglou would definitely like to strengthen the middle of his park, and among the names linked with a move to Spurs is Atalanta’s Ederson.
The Brazilian was first linked with Spurs over a week ago, with Ederson described as a player they’re tracking alongside Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher.
Now, Fabrizio Romano has delivered his verdict, and the journalist claims Tottenham are just one among a number of clubs currently scouting Ederson.
A move, however, is more likely in the summer as Atalanta have no interest in letting their star midfielder go in the coming days.
Romano told GiveMeSport: “Tottenham are one of many clubs scouting Ederson, as well as many other clubs around Europe, in Spain, in England, in Italy too, because Juventus also like the player and have been scouting Ederson.
“He’s been doing fantastic for Atalanta this season. I think he’s going to be one of the names for the summer transfer window because they have no intention of letting him go in January.”
Tottenham target Ederson has been compared to Paulinho
Ederson has been one of the most impressive midfielders in the Serie A this season.
The Brazilian has played 27 times for La Dea in all competitions this term, and he has scored six goals. He is a key player for Gian Piero Gasperini and is having a truly remarkable season.
Total Football Analysis have branded Ederson as a ‘very complete midfielder’ with ‘great strength and speed’. He has also been compared to former Spurs star Paulinho, who spent two years at Tottenham back in the day.
Fabrizio Romano says a move is more likely in the summer, so Ederson is definitely one to keep an eye on then.
