The long awaited deal is here, Tottenham has finalised the deal for ‘Top defender’ who Postecoglou is highly waiting for to replace Eric Dier

Tottenham Hotspur have a desire to buy Barcelona’s Clément Lenglet in the summer window despite releasing him after his season-long loan spell at the north London club.

On Monday, Sport suggested a move to the Premier League side could be the likeliest scenario for the defender, who’s no longer needed at the Camp Nou.

Another report from Sport on Tuesday says Lenglet and Tottenham have an ‘agreement in principle’ for a three-year deal.

The operation now depends on Spurs finding an agreement with the La Liga side over the transfer fee, which the report states is being discussed for the past few days.

Barca are keen to get rid of the 28-year-old as his exit will help them lower their wage bill and also improve their finances. Therefore, his sale is ‘absolutely necessary’.

Tottenham are aware of this and Sport add they don’t intend to pay a lot of money to the Catalan club.

According to the newspaper, a fee of €10m is being considered. Ange Postecoglou’s side are in ‘continuous contacts’ with Barcelona to find the ‘final agreement’ to bring Lenglet back to north London.

The former Sevilla man made 35 appearances for Tottenham last season, managing a goal and two assists in the process.
