Fans didn’t notice what Anthony Gordon did after England goal, Newcastle star kept wholesome promise

Newcastle United star Anthony Gordon scored his first England goal in the 5-0 win over Ireland.

It was a superb night for Newcastle with three Magpies players lining up for the Three Lions at Wembley Stadium.

Interim manager Lee Carsley named Anthony Gordon, Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall in his starting lineup for the Nations League clash, and all three put on superb performances.

Lewis Hall received his first England call-up this month, while Livramento was called up to the squad late after a handful of injury withdrawals.

Hall has already been compared to an England legend after impressing on the international stage, while Gordon also made headlines after scoring his first goal for the Three Lions.
Wholesome meaning behind Anthony Gordon’s England celebration
It was an emotional moment for Gordon as he scored his first goal in an England shirt.

Gordon joked it was “about time” he scored for England after the full-time whistle, and he will hope that his impressive form will help him keep his spot when Thomas Tuchel takes control in 2025.

It is a goal that Gordon will always remember and he marked the occasion with an extremely wholesome celebration.
As pointed out by England on social media, Gordon kept his promise to copy the celebration of Newcastle fan Ivy when he scored.

Ivy has been diagnosed with hyper IGE syndrome and Gordon paid her a visit last month. After finding the back of the net against Ireland, he kept his promise and performed her celebration in front of tens of thousands.

Anthony Gordon is a class act
Ever since his arrival on Tyneside, Gordon has been an immediate favourite among the fanbase – and it is clear to see why.
At just 23 years old, he is caring, passionate and a natural leader. On and off the pitch.

In October, Gordon put money behind a bar to thank Newcastle fans for their support after he missed a penalty against former side Everton.
It was one of many classy gestures he has done around Newcastle, and it’s the little things that get remembered by supporters.

Gordon pledged his future to Newcastle with a long-term contract, and frankly, he is a superb servant to the club and someone the fans would love to see stay for years to come.
