Charles Watts believes that Arsenal need to move Rob Holding on at the end of the season.
The Gunners guru, writing on Goal.com, acknowledged that the 27-year-old has been a great servant for the club.
However, Watts reckons that, if Arsenal want to go to the next level, they can’t field a team which includes Holding.
The Gunners suffered a potentially critical blow in their hopes of winning the Premier League title on Wednesday.
Mikel Arteta’s charges suffered a 4-1 defeat away at fellow title challengers Manchester City.
The Citizens are now just two points behind Arsenal and, with their two games in hand, could go four points clear.
Holding, who has been covering for William Saliba, was given a torrid time by Erling Haaland time and time again.
He also pushed up into midfield on several occasions, which allowed the opposition to cut through Arsenal easily.
Admittedly, he did pull a goal back for Arsenal with a neat finish, but it was not enough to salvage a poor display.
