Morgan Gibbs-White was praised after Forest beat Wolves with Jamie Carragher waxing lyrical about the star as he scored in front of new England boss Thomas Tuchel.
Forest have been linked with players already this month and it appears as though new signings are being looked at in a number of positions.
Igor Jesus has been eyed by Forest but it would appear that it’s not just a new striker that is on the shortlist of things to do this month at the City Ground.
Nottingham Forest want Juventus player Douglas Luiz
The Forest recruitment drive is hardly going to be an extensive roadshow this month given that so many players are performing well at the moment.
Luiz moved to Juve in a deal worth £42 million in the summer but he could now be on his way back to the Premier League this month.
According to the Daily Mail, Forest are one of several clubs in England eyeing a move for the former Aston Villa midfield general.
The 26-year-old has only played 12 times in all competitions this season and the move to Serie A hasn’t really worked out for him.
Last season, however, he was instrumental as Aston Villa qualified for the Champions League, scoring 10 goals and claiming 10 assists in all competitions.
Forest linked Luiz is ‘better than Declan Rice’
This claim came from Jermaine Pennant last season with the ex-Gunners star believing the player was simply worth more to Villa than Rice was to Arsenal.
He told TalkSPORT: “Any team would dream to have Rice, but there are better sixes in the Premier League at the moment. I would say, Douglas Luiz, I think he can do everything that Rice can do and better.”
It’s quite intriguing that Forest are trying to sign a new number six with Danilo and Ibrahim Sangare both seemingly on their way back to fitness.
However, this is a clear sign that Forest will only enter the market for a player if it’s someone who can provide an
update on the current crop.
Luiz has the know-how of getting a team into the Champions League and perhaps that level of experience is something Nuno Espirito Santo would welcome at the club.
The team spirit at Nottingham Forest is sky-high right now and on Monday, the Reds defeated Wolves 3-0 at Molineux to make it six wins on the spin.
Forest are third in the Premier League and have as many points as second-place team Arsenal after 20 games of the 2024/25 campaign.
Morgan Gibbs-White celebrated in glorious fashionafter silencing the boo-boys after just seven minutes during Monday’s game.
Chris Wood scored the second and then praised Taiwo Awoniyi who bagged the third after the game that gave Forest a bit of a cushion down to fifth place.
After the game, the players enjoyed celebrating in front of the travelling supporters and the joy was etched all over the faces of the players.

What Willy Boly did after Forest beat Wolves is hilarious
The 33-year-old defender was an unused substitute on Monday night as Morato came on to see the game out alongside Murillo and Nikola Milenkovic.
Boly did get minutes in the game against Everton back in December and he’s proved a good servant to the football club since signing in 2022.
After beating his former club Wolves, Boly took a place on the team bus ready to return to Nottingham with the team celebrating a big three points.
