There’s no hope- he repeated same thing all the time – Ange was rong to sign him – £178M player slammed for useless performance after arsenal defeat

Tottenham made a number of signings this summer but Andy Townsend has admitted that one of those signings is a bit baffling.

Spurs spent big money on the likes of Dominic Solanke, Archie Gray and Wilson Odobert but after losing to Arsenal this weekend, have now won just once all season.
For Ange Postecoglou, there is plenty of work to do and while Postecoglou has claimed he will win something at Tottenham, doubts are creeping in among some.

Of course, for Postecoglou to do well, he needs his new signings and better players to really start and turn up.

And looking at those summer signings this time around, former Aston Villa man Andy Townsend has suggested the addition of Timo Werner makes no sense.

Tottenham told they were wrong to sign Timo Werner

Speaking on TalkSPORT about Tottenham and the signings they’ve made, Townsend admitted he was pretty surprised at the decision to bring Timo Werner back.

“Timo, when he was in Germany, he obviously was amongst the goals. He came to Chelsea, and he looked short of confidence, genuine belief all-round,” Townsend said.

“And I didn’t think he showed anything much last year in a Spurs shirt. For them to go and do it again and bring him back again, I was really surprised at that.

“I have got to be honest with you.”

Werner has a big point to prove

As Townsend mentions here, Werner has never looked right in England ever since Chelsea paid big money for him.

Looking at his record in the Premier League, it makes you wonder if Liverpool are counting their lucky stars they did miss out on him all those years back.

Still, given the negativity around Werner, he does at least have a chance to prove himself if he gets a chance under Postecoglou this season.

The big question will be if he does actually get those minutes.

Ange Postecoglou should unleash ‘ridiculous’ Tottenham teenager in League Cup vs Coventry now

Tottenham Hotspur’s rocky start to the season continued on Sunday afternoon as they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Arsenal in the North London derby.

Ange Postecoglou’s side have now picked up four points from a possible 12 and reside in 13th, so evidently, the need for a positive result this week is apparent.

Before tottenham Premier League clash against Brentford this weekend, they travel to the West Midlands to take on Coventry City in the League Cup.

Postecoglou really should consider starting a promising teenage attacker…

Ange Postecoglou should start Mikey Moore vs Coventry City

For all of their possession this season, Tottenham have lacked a clinical edge in front of goal, and at times, their crossing has been really poor.

In fact, Paul Merson said even Erling Haaland wouldn’t score 20 goals for Tottenham given the current service into Dominic Solanke.

So, perhaps Postecoglou should consider changing his attacking personnel against Coventry and give Mikey Moore an opportunity.

Moore really impressed in pre-season and given his astounding youth record, the teenage attacker deserves a chance to shine against The Sky Blues.
