WEST HAM’MAKE OFFICIAL ENQUIRY’ FOR BUNDESLIGA FLOP, WANT TO BRING HIM TO ENGLAND NEXT WEEK

West Ham have enquired about Bayern Munich right-back and Noussair Mazraoui and firmed up their interest in Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville but remain apart on valuation.
26-year-old Mazraoui has spent two seasons at the Allianz Arena, having joined on a free transfer from Ajax in the summer of 2022.

The full-back came through the ranks at Ajax, where he played under current Man United boss Erik ten Hag.
He was also a member of the Morocco team that overcame the odds to reach the semi-final of the 2022 World Cup.

There have been reports of United circling the player but now West Ham have registered their interest.

Fulham are also keen on Summerville, who has impressed for Leeds since becoming a regular starter two seasons ago.
The winger is coming off the back of a brilliant campaign, where he contributed 21 goals and 10 assists in 49 appearances in all competitions.

It was a season that ended in disappointment as Leeds were beaten in the play-off final at Webley by Southampton.

Summerville, who has been capped by the Netherlands at Under-21 level, signed for Leeds from Feyenoord in September 2020.
West Ham, now managed by Julen Lopetegui, have made three major signings so far in this transfer window.

Exciting youngster Luis Guilherme joined the club from Palmeiras, while goalkeeper Wes Foderingham arrived on a free transfer following his departure from Sheffield United.
West Ham also secured the signing of Max Kilman from Wolves, who is set to boost their defensive ranks.
Both Manchester United and West Ham United are interested in Bayern Munich’s Noussair Mazraoui, according to Florian Plettenberg.
The 26-year-old defender is keen on a move to the Premier League and would be allowed to leave Bavarian for the right price.
As per the report, Bayern would ideally like to obtain €30m for the Moroccan international but the current market simply wouldn’t demand such a price.
They will push for €20m-€25m but Mazraoui could leave from anywhere between €15m-€20m.
The first concrete talks between the defender’s representatives and the interested parties has already taken place.
Mazraoui played just 19 Bundesliga games last season for Bayern, mostly down to injury.
A product of Ajax’s youth academy, Mazraoui left the Netherlands for Bayern in July 2022 on a free transfer.
In total, the defender has played 38 matches for Bayern, scoring once and assisting on seven occasions.
Mainly due to injury, the defender has never really cemented himself as a regular at Bayern.
A move to England is now very much on the horizon.
Manchester United and West Ham are reportedly interested in a move for Bayern Munich right-back Noussair Mazraoui.

That is according to Florian Plettenberg from Sky Germany, who claims the 26-year-old defender is keen on a move to the Premier League.

Mazraoui, who plays for the Morocco national team, is thought to be available but only at the right price which will be determined by Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

The report suggests Bayern would ideally like to obtain €30m for Mazraoui but the current market simply wouldn’t demand such a price, which means United could get him for cheaper.
Bayern will likely push for €20m-€25m but it is thought he could leave for as little as €15-€20m.

Mazraoui would provide competition as well as cover for Diogo Dalot. The Portuguese right-back was one of United’s most improved players last season, but he needs healthy competition if Aaron Wan-Bissaka is to leave this summer.

Making just 19 Bundesliga appearances last season, Mazraoui missed a lot of football due to injuries, which isn’t a good initial sign considering United had such a bad injury crisis in defence last term.

Only time will tell if it’s United or West Ham who show the most interest in acquiring Mazraoui.

Why are Bayern open to selling Mazraoui?

It’s not usually a good sign when Bayern Munich are willing to give up on a player like Mazraoui. He flashed at times, but injuries have proven to be a real hindrance.

I’m not sure how it would be any different at United?

He has competition from Benjamin Pavard and Joshua Kimmich. That probably explains why Vincent Kompany is open to the idea of cashing in on the Moroccan.
West Ham are still considering Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Southampton’s Kyle Walker-Peters, according to Dharmesh Sheth.

The Sky Sports journalist reported on 22 July that despite the Hammers’ interest in Bayern Munich right-back Noussair Mazraoui, they are still considering the aforementioned Premier League defenders.
The Hammers are believed to be keen on signing a new right-back this summer with Julen Lopetegui in charge at the helm.

Sheth wrote on X: “West Ham in talks with Bayern Munich over signing of right-back Noussair Mazraoui. Morocco international into final 2 years of his contract. Interest retained in Southampton’s Kyle Walker-Peters & Manchester United’s Aaron wan-Bissaka.”

West Ham must priortise signing Noussair Mazraoui

The Hammers’ pursuit of Mazraoui could be a strategic move to bolster their defensive options.
The 26-year-old Morocco international’s potential arrival at West Ham could provide much-needed depth and quality in the right-back position.
His experience in top-flight football, both domestically and in European competitions, could be invaluable for the Hammers.
While the Hammers are also considering Wan-Bissaka and Walker-Peters, Mazraoui’s technical ability and tactical flexibility could make him a more suitable fit for the club.
Moreover, his versatility, as he can also play as a midfielder, adds another layer to his appeal.
His attacking prowess, combined with his defensive solidity, aligns well with the style of play that manager Julen is expected to implement.
