Tottenham Hotspur’s summer is now well up and running with transfer business being done alongside the start of their pre-season efforts.
Ange Postecoglou‘s men returned to north London over the weekend to start their work ahead of the new campaign.
Spurs have already made two signings this summer with the return of Timo Werner on loan and the exciting addition of Archie Gray.
It has been a fairly busy start to the summer for Daniel Levy with the Spurs chairman also sanctioning a number of exits from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
And it seems as if there could be more departures to follow with the Lilywhites expecting a fresh bid to land at their door in the coming hours.
Tottenham prepared to receive fresh bid in coming hours
Spurs have already provided Postecoglou with some defensive cover in the summer window with the addition of Gray.
The 18-year-old has been signed as a midfielder, but he has shown his ability to play at right-back during his time with Leeds United.
This comes after losing Joe Rodon who went the other way when Spurs agreed to sign Gray from the Yorkshire side.
Just a week on, Spurs could now be set to lose another defender from their squad.
According to Tuttomercato, Spurs should receive a fresh bid in the region of €15m (£12.5m) for Emerson Royal from AC Milan.
Talks between the two clubs have been ongoing over the Brazilian right-back but there has been an impasse over the valuation.
The report claims Milan’s previous bid for the 25-year-old was in the region of €12m (£10m) for the player who Spurs signed back in 2021 for £26m from Barcelona.
However, it is claimed the expected new offer should accelerate the talks over the defender.
Daniel Levy sanctioning fresh start at Tottenham
Spurs have made some significant changes over the early stages of this summer’s transfer window.
For years, Spurs have been forced to hold on to some of their unwanted players as they have struggled to sell them.
The prime example of this being Tanguy Ndombele who has seen his contract in north London terminated this summer a year before its expiration.
Levy has taken a significant financial hit on doing that but it does show that the Spurs chairman is doing his part to provide Postecoglou with what he wants for the start of the new season.
Spurs fans will now just be hoping to see more new faces come through the doors.
