Tottenham Hotspur’s squad is starting to take shape ahead of the new Premier League season.
For the most part, the fans are pretty happy with the direction the club is going under Ange Postecoglou, as he is set to take charge of his second season at the club.
Pre-season is underway and Tottenham have picked up two wins from two, with several names impressing.
The biggest deal the London club have concluded so far is Tottenham securing the transfer of Archie Gray from Leeds United.
There was a lot of hype, noise and excitement at the Gray signing, so it isn’t a surprise that he has started pre-season like a house on fire.
Tottenham fans were all saying the same thing about Gray’s pre-season performance and he will now be pushing to start the first game of the campaign.
If that happens, then he will most likely start in the middle of the park, which probably means a senior player has to make way.
That’s where Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg comes into the picture, a player who was struggling for game time already last season.
Therefore, it isn’t a surprise that he is set to leave, with sources telling HITC that Hojbjerg nears an exit as personal terms have been agreed with Marseille.
Darren Ambrose admitted that he is pretty ‘disappointed’ if this deal goes through and that the Denmark international is a player he very much likes, as he told talkSPORT (21/07/24 at 4:10 pm).

“Spurs, this is my club that I support, they have agreed to loan midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to Marseille, with a £17 million option to buy him,” said Ambrose.
“You know what, I am disappointed with that. I know he gets a lot of stick. I think sometimes unnecessary. It’s like marmite for Spurs supporters. Sometimes they aren’t having him, then they are 50-50 with him.
“But I like him. I think he could add a lot, in terms of experience as well. You could tell that he is passionate about the football club when he comes on. I think he had a good Euros as well. I am disappointed if this goes ahead.”

The 28-year-old is at the peak of his powers, yet he only completed 90 minutes on four occasions in the Premier League last season.
He needs to be completing 30+ and that simply isn’t going to happen under Postecoglou.
Hojbjerg proved at Euro 2024, especially against England when he won Man of the Match, what he can do if you push him forward – Jamie Carragher was left stunned by Hojbjerg at Euro 2024.
But he plays a much deeper role at Spurs, which restricts him, so once again, he can get more of what he wants for Marseille, who are now managed by former Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi.
