Arsenal star Kai Havertz gave an immediate reaction to his side’s dramatic 3-2 win over Tottenham on Sunday – and fans are loving it.
Havertz scored the Gunners’ third goal with a bullet header straight from a corner to give them a 3-0 lead.
Mikel Arteta’s side held that advantage into the second half, but an error from David Raya allowed Cristian Romero to pull a goal back for Spurs from inside the penalty area.
The home team were then awarded a penalty kick at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium following a foul by Declan Rice, which Son Heung-min converted
It meant a tense final 10 minutes for Arsenal, but they managed to hold off their north London opponents to claim a vital win in the Premier League title race
Havertz was criticized by a section of Gunners fans at the start of the season following his £65m transfer from Chelsea, but he has become an increasingly important part of the squad in 2024
He now has 12 goals and 6 assists to his name this season
In the Premier League, only Bukayo Saka (15) improved his total number of goals against Arsenal players
And after his vital role against Spurs, Havertz took to Twitter to celebrate the win – by sharing a popular trending meme
This trend is based on a viral scene by American rapper Lil Yachty, in which Twitter users used AI software to match different people to the image
Almost every famous sportsperson you can think of has been superimposed on this image, including Pep Guardiola, LeBron James, Cody Rhodes and Lionel Messi
And Havertz used a video of himself, wearing an Arsenal shirt, and captioned his post with just one word: “Mood”
In response, fans loved the German international’s message
One person wrote: “Kai Havertz confirmed the FT burner account
” One Second wrote: “Kai Havertz is on football Twitter
” A third joked: “Tears Havertz is a troll on football Twitter
” A fourth person wrote: “Havertz cooks for us
