Tottenham Hotspur winger Manor Solomon recently suffered an MCL injury and he is expected to be sidelined for several weeks.
The 24-year-old joined Tottenham during the summer transfer window after a successful loan spell with Fulham.
Solomon had a similar situation after signing for the London club last year, where he sustained an injury in August and was sidelined until early January.
There have been rumours that the current injury could be a recurrence of the same problem but Alasdair Gold has now allayed such fears claiming that this is a new problem and the injury has no connection to what happened at Fulham last year.
“From what I understand, it was just the most innocuous moment in training. This was, I think, just in a moment of normal training. I don’t think there was anything that happened to him. Just one of those moments where fates conspired,” he told Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham.
“And Manor Solomon, who’s had a really bright start to the season, just obviously has tweaked his knee. And now this meniscus needs repairing. The operation’s today. And we’ll find out how successful that is, and what that means in terms of a recovery time.
“From what I understand, I think it’s not the knee that he had an issue with last season at Fulham. So that’s as good a thing as you can get in a situation like this, in that it’s not a recurrence by the sounds of it.”
Apparently, the winger has tweaked his knee and his meniscus needs repairing. The 24-year-old will be hoping to get over his injury problem and return to action soon. He could be a useful squad option for Spurs for the remainder of the campaign.
Solomon impressed with his performance at Fulham and he is certainly good enough to be a useful player for Tottenham as well. The Israeli winger is versatile enough to operate on either flank and his availability will allow the manager to rotate his squad and keep the players fresh.
The update from Gold will certainly come as a positive for the Tottenham fans and they will be hoping that his surgery goes well and the player can return to action soon.
