Contact Made And Deal Close: Manchester City Set to shock fans by signing Outrageous Argentine Midfielder from MLS side, many never see it coming

Manchester City have reportedly made contact with Atlanta United over a potential transfer move for midfielder Thiago Almada.

The Citizens have already brought in a new midfielder during the current summer window in the shape of Mateo Kovacic, who joined from Chelsea on a four-year deal worth a reported fee of £30m.

Now, the Manchester club look to have made an enquiry over potentially adding another midfield option to their squad this summer.

In a recent Twitter post, journalist Bruno Gonzalez Garcia revealed that City, and Manchester United, have “consulted” the MLS side about making a possible transfer deal for the midfielder this summer.

After scoring 24 goals and providing 10 assists in 100 appearances for his previous club, Velez Sarsfield, the 22-year-old joined his current side back in February last year.

Since then, the Argentine has found the net 15 times and supplied 16 assists in 49 appearances across all competitions.

With 18 appearances to his name in the current MLS campaign, Almada has scored eight goals and made nine assists, which has been described as being “outrageous” by talent scout, Jacek Kulig on Twitter.

In fact, the youngster has made more shot-creating actions (115) and goal-creating actions (20) than any other player in the division this season.

This shows how important he is for the team and how much of an attacking threat he can be from the midfield, in addition to why the two Manchester clubs have got their eyes on him.

Taking all of that into account, we feel that if City were to secure a deal for Almada this summer, this would give them an exciting talent that has the potential to be a long-term star for Pep Guardiola’s side.
