Just in!!! Tottenham has decided to offload 27-year old star as Levy in desperation to sign James Maddison

Leicester City are planning to move for Tottenham Hotspur star midfielder Harry Winks – but a deal won’t involve James Maddison.

Harry Winks could swap Tottenham Hotspur for Leicester City this summer as Enzo Maresca chases a deal.

That is according to The Telegraph, who claim that Leicester are now in talks to bring Winks to the King Power Stadium.

It’s stated that Winks is a prime target for new Leicester boss Maresca as he attempts to take the Foxes straight back to the Premier League.

Maresca allegedly believes that Winks can become a key man in the Championship, rating his ability highly.

The 27-year-old spent last season on loan at Sampdoria in Italy, who struggled as they were relegated out of Serie A.

Winks now heads back to Tottenham with seemingly no future at the club even under new boss Ange Postecoglou.

The last few years have been tricky for Wink and he needs to settle down and get playing regularly again.

Leicester can offer that prospect and Tottenham are seemingly happy for Winks to go with talks now underway.

James Maddison unlikely to feature in Harry Winks deal

The report adds that Leicester’s talks to sign Winks are in no way related to Tottenham’s pursuit of James Maddison.

It’s claimed that potential moves for Winks and Maddison are unconnected and will be kept as separate deals.

Tottenham are chasing a deal for Maddison and Fabrizio Romano claims that Spurs have already agreed personal terms with the Leicester star.

Romano adds that talks are ‘finally advancing’ over a move for Maddison to join Spurs with Daniel Levy ‘very active’ in talks to get this deal done.

There is still some haggling to be done with Leicester allegedly seeking £60million whilst Spurs want to pay £40million plus add-ons.

Selling Winks may be unrelated but it can at least help relations between Tottenham and Leicester as they thrash out a Maddison deal.
