BLUNT TRAUMA!!! SEE YOU IN MARCH CUTI, ANGE POSTECOGLOU FELT SO BAD,ANNOYING,AFTER CONFIRMING ROMERO IS GOING ON A LONG TERM INJURY

Tottenham might have got the win in the end over Everton today but there is some concern for star defender, Cristian Romero.

Romero was forced to come off to be replaced by Eric Dier as Tottenham’s defensive problems continued to mount. With Micky van de Ven already out injured,Spurs can ill-afford anyone else to drop right now.

But it does look like it could be a troublesome looking injury for Romero, and there’ll be some nervous faces at the club as they await the diagnosis.

According to Football London’s Alasdair Gold, Romero looks to have done something to his hamstring, with the journalist pointing out that the defender had an ice pack strapped to him in the dugout in the second half.

Romero injury will be a nightmare for Tottenham

While Gold does make the point here that Romero was in the dugout getting treatment so it might suggest a minor problem, this is a worry for Spurs.

They have suffered some big injuries this season and it’s threatened to derail their campaign. The likes of Maddison and Van de Ven, of course, being the main issues.

But if Romero has also done something to his hamstring then it will need managing properly and over a busy festive period, that’s always going to be tough.

Ange Postecoglou will, no doubt, be waiting for his medical team to give him the verdict. Romero being out would mean Eric Dier likely gets a chance, such is the nature of the club’s issues at centre-back right now.

January, then, can’t come quick enough for Spurs and with talk of Jean-Clair Todibo signing, Spurs might have to hurry it along if Romero is indeed out.
