Spurs boss has confirmed that most important player Conte signed for £31m will finally leave the club this summer

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ryan Mason has suggested that a summer exit involving Dejan Kulusevski could be on the cards.

Tutto Juve had claimed on Thursday that Spurs had decided not to sign the Swedish international on a permanent basis in a deal worth £31 million (Sun).

Despite Dejan Kulusevski having largely been a success in a Tottenham Hotspur shirt, Ryan Mason has hinted that his exit cannot be ruled out.

From the moment the 23-year-old, branded as ‘excellent’ by Antonio Conte joined the club on loan in January, he set the world alight, forming the deadliest front three in the Premier League alongside Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.

While niggling injuries have not helped Kulusevski’s case in kicking on this season, his form has dropped off a cliff since the World Cup.

As the 2022/2023 campaign approaches its end and exit rumours about Dejan Kulusevski from Tottenham have been banded about, Ryan Mason has given an honest verdict of the situation.

I’m not sure about that to be perfectly honest”, he said in his latest press conference, as quoted by Football.London’s Alasdair Gold.

“The general feeling is that Deki is a Tottenham player so those conversations, like many other conversations about other players will come at the end of the season.”

HITC View: Tottenham surely have a replacement in mind

Considering Spurs do not have a sporting director at their disposal, that is perhaps wishful thinking.

However, it seems illogical that Tottenham would choose to allow an exit involving Dejan Kulusevski and not have a successor for him in mind.

Sure, Kulusevski has not lit the world on fire in his first full season in N17.

But the Juventus loanee has proven that he is cut out for the top level and could take plenty of strides forward over time.

With Tottenham not having an adequate replacement for Kulusevski on their books, it would be a risk to be unbothered about letting him go.

Despte Dejan Kulusevski’s displays undergoing a decline, one expects a number of clubs to line up for his signature due to his incredible ceiling.
