“No Doubt”,RAY PARLOUR share his reaction on Tottenham New star player

Ray Parlour has stated that Yves Bissouma has ‘really improved’ following Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-2 draw at Arsenal in the north London derby on Sunday.

Arsenal and Tottenham traded serious blows in their heavyweight showdown at the Emirates, with Ray Parlour adding that Yves Bissouma was ‘excellent’ on the day, as he told talkSPORT Breakfast(25/09/23 at 6:10 am).

The 27-year-old signed for Spurs last summer when Antonio Conte was in charge, but he struggled for form and consistency under the Italian.

This is despite the former Brighton star moving to north London with big expectations and hope on his shoulders.

But fast forward to the present and everything has now changed on its head for the all-action midfielder, who is now showcasing the form he used to produce on a weekly basis at the Amex Stadium.

Arsenal legend Parlour highlighted Ange Postecoglou as a key reason why Yves Bissouma’s form has turned, including his positive display in the north London derby yesterday.

Yves Bissouma improvement

“I thought Bissouma was excellent in midfield,” said Parlour. “I think he has been a player that has really improved under this manager.

“We all knew the ability he had at Brighton, but he didn’t really get an opportunity at Spurs, did he?! Hojbjerg was always in there. There are always people in front of him.

“But this manager has gone ‘no, you are our main man in midfield’ and I thought he was excellent.”

Bissouma given freedom

First and foremost, Bissouma is now playing in a three-man midfield rather than the rigid two-man midfield that Antonio Conte used to cook up.

That didn’t allow the Mali star to play with freedom or carry the ball forward at will because it is one of his strongest qualities.

Under Ange Postecoglou, he is urged and allowed to roam forward at will, and as everyone can see from the results, he has been one of Tottenham’s best players this season.
