All the reaction from Brighton’s 1-1 draw with West Ham from the Amex Stadium

Brighton forced a late equaliser to claim a point against lowly West Ham at the Amex Stadium.
The Seagulls were trailing thanks to an excellent second half goal from Jarrod Bowen but a 91 minutes leveller from Georginio – his first of the season – saw Brighton deny the Hammers an away win.
It was though a nervy moment for Geroginio and the Albion fans as the goal was subject to a lengthy VAR check for a potential handball.
The Premier League Match Centre posted: “#BHAWHU – 90+1’. The referee’s call of goal was checked and confirmed by VAR – with it deemed that Rutter’s arm was in a natural position and he did not deliberately handle the ball, and the contact with the arm was not immediately prior to him scoring.”

After the match Georginio said he was “confused and scared” about the check but the Frenchman needn’t have worried.

West Ham stay in the bottom three

The result keeps Brighton in seventh place, while West Ham remain in the bottom three.

West Ham’s Bowen said: “I am gutted, it feels like loss. We did so much to get into the lead. We sat back too far and invited the pressure. You wanted to protect the lead but we got them too much. We got a point but it feels like a loss.
We limited most of the games and they didn’t have lots to do in goal. The way the manager wants to play we have all bought into that.

“We got ourselves into a good position and nearly had more goals and then they managed to equalise. They have scored lots of late goals against us in the past.”
