The Celtic manager was looking to halt a two-game losing streak to the Ibrox side after suffering a defeat in the New Year and at Celtic Park last month.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Rodgers said, “But listen, we had two moments, didn’t we? You know, it was nowhere near a penalty in the first half.

think both players probably not near to the ball, Callum and Hagi, and so it was never a penalty. But on our offside one you just never know.

“But thankfully, the decision was right, and the goal stood, and again, it gave us good momentum in the second half.”

And on the objects thrown by the Rangers supporters, when asked if this needs stamped out, Rodgers said, “Always. I think that it’s natural.
It’s something that we’ve been here a few times, and there’s been these incidents, but thankfully, they got them off the pitch quickly, and we could play on.”
Celtic now have bigger fish to fry than Rangers

Celtic can now put a lid on the Scottish Premiership season now that the final Glasgow Derby of the season is over

For now, Rodgers must now focus on the treble and the Scottish Cup final against Aberdeen.

Whilst fully recognising that Celtic still have fixtures to play against Hibs, Aberdeen and St Mirren the Hampden final must be a priority for Rodgers.

A world-record ninth domestic treble would be the icing on the cake for the Hoops manager as Celtic continue to be Scotland’s most successful club.
