Nottingham Forest thrashed Brighton 7-0 at the City Ground yesterday as the Reds bounced back from defeat to Bournemouth last weekend.
Nuno Espirito Santo witnessed sheer brilliance as Forest ran riot in the sunshine on Trentside to keep their third place standing in the Premier League.
The Reds needed to bounce back and they did that in style with Jude Bellingham hailing Chris Wood after the contest which saw Forest complete a demolition job.
Forest now focus on the FA Cup clash with Exeter in just over a week and will hope to progress to the next stage of the competition with a resounding win.
The game saw a number of top performances and hopefully, the team can maintain this really strong run of form into the business stages of the season.
What Alex Moreno did after Nottingham Forest win
It’s been a frustrating few months for the Spanish left-back and it’s perhaps unsurprising that Moreno has been linked with a move to Real Betis.
The left-sided defender doesn’t appear like he’s going anywhere anytime soon, however. He was in fine form leading the celebrations after yesterday’s huge win despite not making it on the pitch.
Moreno headed over to the A-Block and Bridgford Stand to do his trademark fist pumps. It was well received by the fan base and it looks as though Moreno is very happy at the club.
Forest will need to call on Moreno as the season continues to progress. He’s a brilliant player to have in the squad and hopefully, no rash calls will be made on his future.
Moreno will start FA Cup clash vs Exeter
It looks almost certain as though Espirito Santo will ring the changes for the game against Exeter. The League One strugglers will find Forest formidable opposition when they meet in just over a week.
Moreno will likely come in at left-back for Neco Williams. Against Luton in round three, he played as a winger and perhaps that will also come into the thinking of the Forest head coach.
The loan star clearly has the club’s interest at heart. His celebrations were joyful and perhaps didn’t typify a player who hadn’t played a single minute of the match.
Moreno is needed at Forest for the remainder of the season. He does face a fight to get his place in the team back but ultimately, the modern game is about squad depth and Moreno is proof that Forest have it in abundance.
