John Terry mocks Tottenham as he reacts to Cole Palmer Chelsea footage
Chelsea legend John Terry took to social media to mock rivals Tottenham following the Blues’ dramatic 4-3 comeback victory.
The former captain continues to show unwavering support for his old club as they defeated bitter rivals on Sunday (8 December).
The 44-year-old celebrated the victory on social media, particularly reacting to Cole Palmer’s penalty that secured the crucial fourth goal.
Palmer scored a cheeky ‘Panenka’ penalty and teased the North London team on his own account, captioning his post “Chippy.”
Terry and his family celebrated the goal while watching the match. He shared a story on Instagram of him watching the second Palmer spot kick captioned with laughter emojis and: “Get in. Grab the tequila out. It’s happened again.”
Chelsea comeback renews belief amongst players and fans
Enzo Maresca’s team has reignited belief among fans and former players, closing the gap on Arne Slot’s Liverpool to just four points.
The Reds’ however, have a game in hand after the Merseyside derby’s cancellation, which has left fans thrilled about the postponed fixture.
This marks the London club’s ninth victory of the season, positioning them as title contenders ahead of rivals Arsenal and Man City.
Despite Maresca consistently dismissing title race speculation, his caution is understandable. The squad is young and cannot accommodate every member of their bloated roster. This reality may force players like Carney Chukwuemeka, signed for his potential, to seek opportunities elsewhere.
The Italian manager said after the win in North London: “To be serious, we are not ready. We are far from these teams, but we focus on day-by-day and trying to improve the team”[BBC Sport].
He also noted that his team is “ahead” of expectations. He references improvements “on the ball, off the ball, and in terms of the results.”
However, one thing is certain: Chelsea are moving forward and increasingly look like a a threat to Liverpool’s gap on the top.
