Archie Gray has been settling in well so far and impressing following his £40million move from Leeds to Tottenham Hotspur.
The 18-year-old played 52 times last season for Leeds and was named Championship Young Player of the Season before arriving at Spur this month in a deal which saw Joe Rodon head in the opposite direction. Gray is naturally a central midfielder but played much of last season at right-back, a position Ange postecoglou used him in during the second half of a behind-closed-door friendly against Cambridge United on Saturday.
However, Gray’s future is expected to lie in the heart of midfield and football.london understands that the teenager has already been impressing Postecoglou and his coaches with his efforts in the opening week or so of pre-season training. He was joined this summer by another new face in fellow 18-year-old Lucas Bergvall, with the Swede also looking to make a big impact in his first season in the Premier League following his £8.5million move from Djurgarden in February.

The reporters also spoke about Cristian Romero and Giovani Lo Celso’s Copa America triumph as well as the latest with Dele Alli after Spurs agreed a deal with Everton regarding their former midfielder.
The duo also spoke about the north London club’s need to start getting more transfers through the door ahead of the pre-season tour to Asia next week. Postecoglou and the team travel to Edinburgh first to face Hearts on Wednesday before taking on QPR on Saturday afternoon.
Postecoglou is going to have the vast majority of his players available for the Hearts encounter but a handful will be missing due to their international participation this summer. Destiny Udogie is not expected to be fit to play just yet after undergoing surgery to his left quadriceps towards the end of last season, with question marks over Richarlison’s fitness levels at present after he also sat out games in the final few weeks of 2023/24.
The Brazilian was spotted watching on at the training ground from the bench for the Cambridge fixture, although it unclear whether he entered the fray at any point after his recent injury rehab work.
