But after suffering an ankle injury on his return to the starting XI against Aston Villa in November, Bentancur has started the last three games in all competitions for Spurs.The Uruguayan netted in Tottenham’s 2-2 draw at Old Trafford on Sunday and seems to finally be finding his place in Ange Postecoglou’s side.

The midfielder will head into the final two years of his contract in the summer and it certainly wouldn’t be a surprise to see Spurs secure his long-term future.Despite his struggles with injuries over the past 10 months, Bentancur has already proven to be a good fit for Postecoglou’s style of play. Indeed, Jamie Redknapp labelled him a ‘fantastic’ talent after his display at Old Trafford on Sunday and also feels he fits the bill for a Postecoglou midfielder.
You’d imagine that Spurs will want to avoid him heading into the final 18 months of his deal as top clubs would undoubtedly be on alert.
