Chris Sutton has predicted Brentford to sneak a win when they face West Ham at the London Stadium on 26 February, claiming the treatment of David Moyes will affect their form.
The former Chelsea striker shared that he hopes West Ham, and more importantly Moyes, win, but he cannot see that happening on Monday night.
Sutton predicted a final scoreline of 2-1 Brentford – a result which would likely see the pressure on Moyes ramp up further, adding to their awful run of form of late.
Writing in his BBC Sport Premier League Predictions, Sutton shared: “Both of these teams badly need a win. Brentford actually played really well in their narrow defeat by Manchester City on Tuesday, and I have a sneaky feeling they will get something here.
“The atmosphere, mood and everything surrounding West Ham boss David Moyes definitely won’t help his team here, and I think it will actually work against the Hammers.”
“I really feel for Moyes with what is going on at the moment, and it is definitely affecting his side’s home form because they are low on confidence. I hope Moyes wins, and I hope the supporters get behind him, but I don’t see either happening on Monday. 1-2.”

It has been reported that the West Ham board will give the boss the next run of games to see if he can turn around the club’s declining form, but following a loss to Nottingham Forest, another against Brentford could spell the end.
Sutton’s prediction has come shortly after he hit out at Hammers fans for their ‘Moyes Out’ protest banner in the away end against Forest, as he continues his relentless defence of the manager.
Despite that defence, Sutton does make a good point. A toxic atmosphere at the London Stadium will do nothing to benefit the team, and could well result in another defeat to continue their winless run.
However, after the decision was made to stall any contract talks with Moyes, it feels almost inevitable that he will be replaced. The question now is just whether it happens upon the expiry of his contract, or if results are bad enough to sack him now.
