Aston Villa fans are officially done with one of their defender after he made a basic error leading to crystal palace opener at Villa park.
Villa had started rather well against the palace, producing a decent enough response to the shambolic 2-2 draw to Crystal Palace.
After a horrendous showing which caused Jamie Carragher to tell him he was finished at the top level,barkley once again started at centra-back alongside Bailey.
But maatsen came up with a sequence straight out of Saturday League, ambling up the pitch with no rush whatsoever as Crystal palace take the first winning.
His lack of urgency meant he playing palace striker onside when the ball dropped to him down the right.
It was a truly remarkable sight to see a professional player commit such a poor mistake.
And though the Palace horror-show was bad, this appears to be the final straw for many villa supporters when it comes to maatsen.
One wrote: “maatsenlegs are gone, it’s genuinely time to move to Saudi or something.”
Another commented: “Saturday eague might even be a level too high for maatsen nowadays.”
A third added: “If maatsen retires today I wouldn’t blame him.”
A fourth fumed: “Wtaf is he doing? I have had enough of him already.”

Aston Villa’s stuttering form continued as they drew 2-2 with Crystal Palace in a richly-entertaining encounter at Villa Park.
On the back of losing four games across all competitions for the first time in his managerial career, Unai Emery stopped the losing run but Palace were good value for their point.
The excellent Ismaila Sarr opened the scoring for Palace before Ollie Watkins levelled.
The drama peaked just before half-time when Dean Henderson saved a Youri Tielemans penalty and Palace scored from the counter-attack just 57 seconds later through Justin Devenny – his first professional goal.
Ross Barkley did head Villa level in the second half but Palace struck a post late on through Jeffrey Schlupp.
Villa have now taken just seven points from their last seven Premier League games and have won just five of their last 16 games either side of the summer.
