Cody Rhodes On Potential Rematch With Roman Reigns: It Has To Happen As he vowed to banish Roman Reigns

Cody Rhodes borrowed a phrase from Matt Cardona; he says he’s always ready for another showdown with the Original Tribal Chief.
Speaking at the WWE SummerSlam Post-Show, Cody Rhodes discussed Roman Reigns‘ return. He was then asked to comment on what was next. Rhodes said the WrestleMania 40 documentary proved how plans can go up in smoke, so nothing’s guaranteed.
However, Rhodes knows that there’s a third match with Reigns in his future, although he might not know when it happens.
Cody Rhodes on Roman Reigns
“Listen, this current WWE landscape, you can’t call it. We just had a behind-the-scenes documentary about how the best-laid plans can just go to hell in one moment because it’s just a kind of controlled chaos where these beautiful things happen. I don’t know. Roman Reigns certainly is entitled to not just a rematch. Roman Reigns held this title for so long. That match, it has to happen,” Rhodes proclaimed. “That’s one of those where, to a degree, you’re not supposed to say this when you’re a babyface, but it’s rather scary. I’ve been in there twice with him, and brother hits hard. So the idea of that is there.
“I was tapping the title like this [motions three] because I know there’s a third one somewhere down the line,” he continued. “I know I’m not his friend. He didn’t do that for me. He did that because of what’s happening with the Bloodline and Solo. I think that’s something to stay tuned for, probably on SmackDown, in the sense of what happens with The Bloodline. There’s a lot of match options that are in front of us, and that’s for the man who’s gonna be up here next to decide what happens next. I’m always ready.”
