West Ham have signed Crysencio Summerville from Leeds United, it has been reported by ExWHUEmployee.
The player has penned a long-term 5 year deal with an option of a 6th, as he becomes the clubs 4th summer signing of a busy transfer window thus far.
“We can confirm that Crysencio Summerville has just signed his contract and is now a West Ham player until 2029 with an option of an extension,” stated the insider on The West Ham Way Patreon. “This represents a serious coup for the club with the player being much sort after.”
Ex revealed the club’s interest in the Dutch international followings Leeds’ failure to gain promotion back to the Premier League last season, with it then confirmed a more concrete view on the 9th July before confirming last week that he was the key winger target now.
The club are now set to formally announce the signing as the player gets his media work completed, with many excited over a player who was crowed the Championship Player of the Season in 2023/24.
West Ham sign Leeds United’s Crysencio Summerville in £25m Deal
1 August 2024 by Gareth McKnight
West Ham United will sign Leeds United forward Crysencio Summerville in a deal worth around £25 million. According to Fabrizio Romano, his medical has been booked for today.
West Ham have been working hard in the market for reinforcements this summer, and Summerville is their latest coup.
Everything is in place, and the Dutchman is expected to sign a five-year deal at the London Stadium.
The 22-year-old was in demand after a stunning 2023/24 campaign in which he was named Championship Player of the Year.
Despite Leeds’ failure to secure Premier League promotion, Summerville had a standout season, notching 21 goals and ten assists in 49 appearances.
His showings drew attention from top-flight heavyweights like Chelsea, Liverpool and Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain.
However, he has opted to join the Hammers, further bolstering an attack boasting Mohammed Kudus, Lucas Paqueta, Jarrod Bowen, Luis Guilherme, and Michail Antonio.
The Leeds star becomes West Ham’s fourth summer signing after Max Kilman, Wes Foderingham, and Guilherme.
In addition to the Summerville deal, West Ham have opened talks with Borussia Dortmund for German international striker Niclas Fullkrug.
The Irons want to sign another striker. They have turned to Fullkrug, who has fallen down the pecking order at BVB following the arrival of Serhou Guirassy.
Fullkrug wants consistent game time and could find it in east London under Julen Loptegui.
West Ham were working on a deal to sign Jhon Duran from Aston Villa, but the interest in the Colombian centre-forward has cooled off.
Summerville can be one of the best summer signings
Summerville’s arrival at West Ham United is nothing short of a coup. The Dutchman’s explosive pace, eye for goal and creative flair will inject a new dimension into the Hammers’ attack.
Also, he operates primarily on the left flank, allowing Paqueta to flourish in the centre, maximising the Brazilian’s playmaking ability.
With Summerville joining Kudus, Bowen, Guilherme, Antonio, and possibly Fullkrug, West Ham are assembling one of the most exciting forward lines in the Premier League. Hammers fans will be thrilled.
However, a really big claim emerged late last night about the speedy winger’s proposed deal to join the Hammers.
The news that Summerville is all set to join West Ham came as a huge surprise last night, after it was claimed that the club had actually walked away from a deal to bring him to the London Stadium.
Julen Lopetegui desperately needs to add a right-footed left winger to his ranks this summer, preferably someone with electric pace.
With that in mind, I genuinely can’t think of any better realistic options than Leeds ace Crysencio Summerville.
A deal is seemingly incredibly close to getting wrapped up for the Dutch star, and now a stunning new claim has been made about the transfer…
Specific Crysencio Summerville West Ham deal detail claim
The Leeds ace will undoubtedly take us to a whole new level, if he does indeed complete his move to the club.
Summerville will improve the Hammers as a team overnight, what with his pace, direct playing style and output inside the final third
The scary thing about the Dutchman is that he will continue to get better and better with every season that passes for the next decade.
This is one of the most exciting signings West Ham have been linked with making in quite some time as far as I’m concerned.
He has absolutely everything that we currently lack inside the final third.
Now a new update has emerged about the potential transfer.
According to the Evening Standard, the Hammers have booked in a medical for Summerville, and once the deal is complete he cculd even join up with the boys on our pre-season tour.
Things are clearly moving very quickly indeed here, and that’s great news for us.
