Tottenham captain Heung-min Son has revealed what happened to him in Spurs’ pre-season tour of Asia this summer that was ‘special’ to him.
The north London side travelled to the other side of the world for their pre-season preparations, as Tottenham took on Vissel Kobe in Tokyo before heading to Seoul to face the K-League All-Stars, games in which Spurs won.
With manager Park Tae-ha impressed with what he saw from Son, the Tottenham star enjoyed a dream return to South Korea, with the forward scoring twice in a 4-3 win against the K-League All-Stars.
And the Premier League superstar has shared one moment that made him feel proud back home.
Son hints that scoring in South Korea for Tottenham was a career highlight
Speaking to Tottenham’s official Twitter account, the 32-year-old attacker shared his delight at scoring for Spurs in his home country, with Son saying that it was one of the best feelings he’s ever felt during his career.
Given how big a moment this was for Son, it’s no real surprise that the attacker was left in sheer joy having scored in his home country for Tottenham, with the forward impressive on the night for the north London side.
Son said when asked how he felt scoring in South Korea against the K-League All-Stars: “I think it’s one of the best feelings I’ve ever had, it’s a great feeling when you score, especially at home.
“I’ve scored some goals here with the national team, but when you score in the Spurs kit, it’s a different feeling. It feels amazing, I’m very, very grateful. This is very special, I have a special connection with the fans, I love them and appreciate them.”
Son will want to keep pre-season form going into the Premier League
With three goals in pre-season, Son has been in exceptional form heading into the new Premier League campaign, with the attacker looking as sharp as he ever has for Tottenham.
Next season is teeing up to be a big one for Spurs, who after missing out on top-four will want to return to the UEFA Champions League with Son leading the line for the north London side.
Moreover, the goal of finally winning silverware will be weighing heavily on the attacker’s mind, with Tottenham now going 16 years without a trophy, with Son yet to win a thing with Spurs.

Right now, Tottenham Hotspur are yet to improve Ange Postecoglou’s forward line ahead of the new season.
Yang Min-hyeok will arrive in January and hope to play a significant first team role despite only being 18-years-old, but otherwise Spurs haven’t strengthened.

However, any deal that takes the Brazilian to the Saudi Pro League won’t be straightforward given Spurs’ £60m asking price is unlikely to be met.
That being said, Tottenham supporters will probably feel as if the club’s strikeforce needs added firepower regardless of whether Richarlison stays or goes.
