TRANSFER TUG OF WAR! West Ham Battles For Versatile Winger

As reported in the last few days,West Ham United are now definitely in the mix for AC Milan winger Alexis Saelemaekers as they look to bolster their attacking options. The Belgian, who impressed on loan at Bologna last season, is available for a fee of around £16.8 million.

Manager Julen Lopetegui is keen to add depth and competition to his squad, and Saelemaekers’ versatility and experience could make him a valuable asset. The 25-year-old is capable of playing on either flank, offering the Hammers flexibility in their attacking formations.

Saelemaekers has played 140 times in all competitions for AC Milan but spent last term on loan at Bologna.

He was commonly deployed on the left wing and played 32 times across all competitions for the Serie A side.

During those games, he contributed to seven goals, which is more than what both Michail Antonio and Danny Ings managed last term – albeit the former had injury issues and the latter was scarcely used.

With competition from the likes of Leicester City, Nottingham Forest, and Ipswich Town, West Ham will need to act swiftly to secure Saelemaekers’ signature.

The potential arrival of the Belgian would provide a further boost to the Hammers’ attacking options, complementing the likes of Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen.
