TOTTENHAM PLAYER CONFIRMS HE’S FOLLOWING ROYAL EMERSON OUT THE DOOR, HE ISN’T PART OF ANGE POSTECOGLOU PLANS

Emerson Royal could be on his way out of Tottenham this summer.

The Brazilian defender is said to be a top target of AC Milan, and things appear to be hotting up on that front.
Indeed, there’s been a flurry of reports about Milan’s interest in the Brazilian in recent days, and according to Ben Jacobs, speaking on Last World on Spurs, AC Milan’s manager, Paulo Fonseca, has been directly in touch with the defender about the move.
Paulo Fonseca has spoken to Emerson Royal

Jacobs claimed that the Milan manager has had positive talks with the £26m Tottenham defender.

“The player’s priority is Milan. It’s as simple as that. Emerson Royal would like to move to Milan, there’s a five-year deal on the table and personal terms are agreed,” Jacobs said.
“In addition to that, it’s not just Zlatan Ibrahimovic working on this. Paulo Fonseca has come in. I’m told in the last week or so Fonseca has been in contact with Emerson Royal and it’s all very positive. There’s no problem on the Milan end except for the negotiations with Spurs.”
Emerson Royal move is imminent

Emerson Royal to AC Milan may just be a matter of time.
As Jacobs says, personal terms have been agreed and Emerson has spoken to Fonseca. This sounds like a deal that is a long way towards being done.

Of course, a fee still needs to be agreed, but it shouldn’t be that difficult for Milan and Spurs to come to some sort of agreement on that front.

Emerson will likely leave Tottenham in the coming weeks, and if the former Real Betis man does depart, Spurs will quickly need to move to find a replacement and bolster that right-back spot.

Don’t be surprised if an announcement on this front comes in the very near future.
Tottenham have let a number of players leave the club already this summer. But they have only made money from one of them.
Eric Dier and Ivan Perisic, who went on loan for the second half of last season, came to the ends of their contracts, signing permanent deals with Bayern Munich and Hajduk Split respectively. Ryan Sessegnon did not have the option for an extra year taken up by Spurs, while Japhet Tanganga also left at the expiration of his deal.
Tottenham also came to a mutual agreement with Tanguy Ndombele to end his contract a year early. The only one Spurs have made money on has been Joe Rodon, leaving for Leeds United in a £10million deal, although, while separate, it did count towards the deal to bring Archie Gray to N17.
More players are expected to leave, with the likes of Djed Spence and Sergio Reguilon not having a future under Ange Postecoglou and players like Bryan Gil, Giovani Lo Celso, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Emerson Royal looking at other options for more game time.

Royal is one who had looked set to be on the move earlier than others, with plenty of interest from abroad in his services. Italian giants AC Milan have been heavily linked, but as yet have not been able to get a deal over the line.
And football.london can reveal that is because their bids for the defender come nowhere nears Spurs’ valuation of the Brazilian.
Tottenham are looking for a fee in the region of £20million to sell the 25-year-old, who cost the club around £25million back in 2021. Milan do not see him in that price bracket it seems though.

football.london reporter Alasdair Gold has revealed that AC Milan have made two bids for the defender – well, one really because both bids were for the same amount. They made one verbal offer and one formal offer. That bid was for £8.4million.

Tottenham rejected the verbal bid, then rejecting the formal offer too, which is hardly surprising given it was the same figure. Borussia Dortmund are also interested in the full-back, who filled in at centre-back last season too.
