TOTTENHAM SUPPORTERS FURIOUS AFTER SEEING THEIR ENGLISH PLAYER LATEST UPDATE AMID TRANSFER

Serie A giants AC Milan are reportedly set to offer more than €15 million to sign 25-year-old Tottenham utility man Emerson Royal in the summer transfer window.
According to reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Emerson Royal is the subject of interest from AC Milan. The Serie A giants have already failed with a bid worth €15 million to sign the 25-year-old utility man. However, the Rossoneri will soon submit a bid to Tottenham Hotspur, with personal terms not an issue for either party.

The Emerson Royal story at Tottenham
Emerson Royal has been an underwhelming signing for Tottenham Hotspur since arriving from Barcelona in August 2021. A poor debut season compelled the North London club to invest in another right-back, with Pedro Porro taking no time to usurp him as the first-choice right-back.

The 25-year-old, who has been a utility man for Tottenham in the last three years due to his ability to play as a centre-back and a left-back, featured in his secondary positions more than his primary spot of right-back. Emerson managed less than 1,500 minutes of game time across 24 appearances in all competitions.

The Brazilian international has thus faced an uncertain future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium heading into the summer transfer window. Emerson does not have a shortage of clubs pursuing his signature, with AC Milan among his prospective suitors.

Serie A adventure beckons?
AC Milan’s interest in Emerson Royal is understandable. The Serie A giants have been scouring the market for a right-back heading into the summer transfer window, with Davide Calabria not being at his best in the last couple of seasons. The Tottenham utility man has thus emerged as a viable target for the Rossoneri.

However, the transfer fee is an issue, with Tottenham rejecting an offer from AC Milan. The latest update has revealed that the Serie A giants are ready to submit a bid worth over €15 million to secure Emerson Royal’s services in the summer transfer window.

Personal terms will not be an issue, with the 25-year-old Brazilian international keen on moving to San Siro. So, it will be interesting to see if the latest proposal by AC Milan does the trick and convinces Tottenham to sell Emerson.
Tottenham Hotspur defender Emerson Royal is on the verge of joining AC Milan, with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reporting that Milan are preparing a new bid expected to exceed €15 million to finalise the deal in the upcoming week.

Emerson, who has already agreed to a five-year contract with the Italian side, is keen to make the switch.

Tottenham have been an active club in the transfer market so far, having already secured the signing of Archie Gray from Leeds and working on several other transfers.
They have also been working hard on finalising a transfer away for Emerson Royal, with negotiations with AC Milan ongoing since weeks.

Despite having two years left on his contract, the Brazilian international has struggled to impress manager Ange Postecoglou, leading the club to consider moving him on. Emerson’s wish to join Milan is driven by his desire for more consistent playing opportunities.

Initially signed from Barcelona for €25 million in the summer of 2021, Tottenham initally hoped to recoup a similar amount through this transfer. However, Milan are looking to finalise the deal for slightly less than that figure.

Latest update from Romano claims that a second offer from Milan will be close to just over €15m, a fee which might be agreed by Tottenham as the club hopes to finalise the deal by next week.

He shared the update on X:
Last season, Emerson found it difficult to secure a regular starting position, making 22 Premier League appearances and starting only 11 games. His limited role under Postecoglou has made a move to Milan an attractive prospect.

For Spurs, selling Emerson would help raise funds for additional reinforcements that align better with Postecoglou’s tactical plans.

As negotiations progress, the Lilywhites look forward to the financial and strategic benefits the right-back’s departure could bring.
