Tottenham defender Emerson Royal is ‘waiting for his call’ to leave and join AC Milan, but Spurs’ demands remain a stumbling block to a deal.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who provide the latest updates on the Tottenham player in what is fast becoming a drama.
They explain that Milan have made Emerson Royal their number one target to bolster their right-back position after attracting interest from Aston Villa’s Matty Cash and Lille’s Thiago Santos.
The Brazilian wants to leave Tottenham and join the Italian giants, in fact he is “committed to Milan”, his agent has said in a statement.
They have agreed a deal worth €3m a year, which is expected to be a five-year deal or a four-year deal with the option of a fifth.
Final details of the bonuses included in this clause will be settled once both clubs are in the final stages of operations.
The full-back is currently ‘awaiting the order to leave’ for Milan but will have to wait as they are getting nowhere in negotiations with Tottenham.
They submitted an initial offer worth around 14 million euros but this was deemed insufficient as Tottenham were offering a valuation of 20 million euros.
They don’t want to move on from there.
The intermediaries involved in the negotiations tried to soften their position so that an agreement could be reached, but more time was needed, leaving Emerson Royal waiting for the phone call telling him to fly to Milan.
