TOTTENHAM DROP SHOCK ANNOUCEMENT ON 26-YEAR OLD PLAYER JUST ONE DAY AFTER TOTTENHAM OFFERED HIM NEW CONTRACT

Tottenham defender ready to move to new club despite wage cut
Spurs right-back Emerson Royal has been heavily linked with a move to Serie A side AC Milan, and now it seems as though the deal could finally go through.
Tottenham seem to have made their decision for starting right-back extremely clear, with Spanish footballer Pedro Porro starting in 35 of the 36 matches he was selected for this past season (Transfermarkt).
As a result, it seems that both Emerson Royal and the North London club have come to a mutual understanding that it’s time for the Brazilian to move on from his time in Lilywhite.
The major suitor for a potential deal has unquestionably been Italian club AC Milan, and according to recent reports, the deal is now all the more likely to go through.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Emerson has already agreed to a reduction in wages with his prospective club in order to help the organization financially (via Sport Witness).
Additionally, it appears that the full-back is very interested in making the move happen, so much so that a personal agreement has already been decided (via Sport Witness).
Though Tottenham continue to ask for €25m, the Italian side may very well try and leverage the player’s interest in order to bring the price down to something more in the range of €20m

During his time in the Premier League, Emerson made 79 appearances, contributing four goals and two assists as well (Transfermarkt). The right-back even made eight Champions League appearances with the club, and in total worked his way onto the pitch on over 100 different occasions (Transfermarkt).
The deal seems more likely to go through as the weeks progress, and if so, Spurs may have to be on the lookout for more full-back options, especially with the exit of Ryan Sessegnon and transfer links surrounding Djed Spence.
In other news, Corriere dello Sport have also reported that Milan are interested in the talents of Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who is supposedly interested in Champions League football next season, which the Italian side can provide (Sport Witness). However, those talks seem to be less advanced than the contact with Emerson (Sport Witness).
