And the manager is said to be a “huge admirer” of England star Conor Gallagher, with The Athletic claiming Aston Villa have held preliminary discussions with Chelsea over a move for the midfielder
Gallagher is entering the final 12 months of his contract at Stamford Bridge and is said to have become a top target for Unai Emery
Villa are also said to be in contact with Gallagher’s squad, with the club looking at a potential deal following the 24-year-old’s consistent form for Chelsea last season
There is believed to be a healthy relationship between the two clubs, with the Blues board dealing with Villa when they signed Carney Chukwuemeka in 2022
Meanwhile, Chelsea are said to be still maintain a strong interest in Villa’s 20-year-old striker John Duran
The Colombian international was linked with Chelsea in January and is said to be one of the candidates to strengthen their attack this summer
Inquiries regarding the player are also said to come from clubs in Italy, Saudi Arabia and Spain
