Ange Postecoglou admits he ‘got it wrong’ about Spurs fans in incredible press conference

Ange Postecoglou admitted he “was wrong” after Tottenham’s 2-0 loss to Manchester City
On Tuesday, Postecoglou questioned Spurs’ “shaky foundations” following their meeting with Manchester City
His comments clearly referred to the happy atmosphere despite the defeat at Tottenham Hotspur, stemming from a result that could potentially prevent Arsenal from winning the title
The 2-0 defeat also left Tottenham’s hopes of winning the Champions League in tatters as they lost their fifth match in six and caused Aston Villa to lose their place in the top four
However, many Tottenham fans were in good spirits after the win, which saw Man City top the table by two points ahead of Arsenal with games remaining
Postecoglou’s initial criticism caused quite a stir, with the Australian now backtracking and claiming the evening was one of his “worst experiences” in football
Postecoglou said in his press conference ahead of the final match of the season against Sheffield United: “It was probably the worst experience I’ve ever had as a football coach
” Once I realized I was wrong about what the atmosphere would be like and how people would feel
I really feel worried inside: what if Man City, the best team in the world, eliminates the teams ahead quite easily – four in Brighton
– and what will happen out if we play the best we can
But they beat us 5-0
“I break out in a cold sweat at the thought of people questioning the integrity of me and the people I work with
” During the match, Postecoglou was seen arguing with a home fan, while Athletic later claimed the Spurs boss was disappointed that “some of the club’s staff” appeared relaxed during the game fight with the intention of losing to Man City
