Breaking news!!! £50m Serie A star forward finally decided to join Tottenham over Aston Villa after visit to white hart

Tottenham Hotspur have improved compared to last season and Ange Postecoglou has done a great job in his first season at Spurs
However, Tottenham still have work to do, as poor performances and heavy defeats against the likes of Fulham and Newcastle United have shown
Spurs’ squad needs to improve over the next few transfer windows if they are to challenge for the Premier League title and do well in Europe
And with the summer transfer window just around the corner, speculation is mounting as to who Tottenham could sign
Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on the ‘perfect’ midfielder Spurs are reportedly considering for the end of the season
The player in question is Atalanta’s Ederson, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham in recent weeks
Romano detailed Spurs’ interest in the Brazilian in a post on GiveMeSport, but admitted things may not be easy for the north Londoner
What did Fabrizio Romano say about Tottenham targeting Ederson
“Ederson will be a very difficult opponent,” said Romano
“This is because Atalanta is already expected to release midfielder Teun Koop-Miners, and Atalanta’s starting pitchers are Koop-Miners and Ederson
“Therefore, I think it is very unlikely that Tottenham would release two key players in the same position in the same summer
“I think it is very unlikely that Tottenham would sell this player at a high price, just like many other clubs in Europe
“The same applies to Barcelona and other English clubs, for example, but at the moment it would be difficult for Spurs to sign a player from Atalanta
” As for how much Ederson will have to pay, Calciomercato recently claimed that Atalanta had put a £30m price tag on him
However, the latest updates on Romano suggest that the Serie A club may consider him irreplaceable due to other possible departures in the summer
Atalanta don’t want their team to be completely exhausted over the summer, but that would complicate things a bit for Spurs and other suitors
Tottenham Hotspur are rumored to be looking to sign a number of midfielders ahead of the summer transfer window, with Ange Postecoglou and Daniel Levy clearly among the positions they are targeting
Journalist Fabrizio Romano told GIVEMESPORT that it would be “very difficult” for Tottenham to complete the deal, given the situation at the Italian club
They may soon have to move to one of the other targets in that position, with numerous names associated with them so far
Players Tottenham are said to be interested in include Conor Gallagher, Dani Olmo and Keiynan Dewsbury-Hall
But Ederson is a player they won’t sign
Atalanta’s problems could prevent Tottenham from signing Ederson Italian club faces losing two key players in the same position Ederson will be central to Atalanta this season German coach Gian Carlo Gasperini, a former striker at the club, called him “their team” and “the most important player”
However, Tottenham are at risk of losing him as they were recently ‘in talks’ to sign Ederson from Atalanta
The 24-year-old defensive midfielder has been in great form this season, helping his team reach the Europa League quarter-finals with his performances in midfield
The deep midfielder has scored six goals and provided one assist in Serie A this season
This is an element he has added to his recent play, having scored just one goal in 35 league games last season
This would be an attractive feature for Tottenham, who want to add another all-round midfielder
Atalanta’s situation makes things difficult Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano says a move to Tottenham would be “very difficult” for Ederson
It all boils down to Atalanta’s situation regarding midfielders and the transfer market
The Italian club will lose Teen Koopmeiners this summer, a midfielder who has been closely linked with Liverpool and Juventus
He is Ederson’s partner in Atalanta’s midfield and the club will not want to lose two starting midfielders in the same slot
This makes things difficult for Tottenham, but they are determined to sign a new midfielder in the coming months
However, Romano points out that Barcelona and other Premier League clubs are also in the market for players of similar stature, so they will be shopping in a crowded market

Romano told GIVEMSPORT:

“Ederson is going to be very, very difficult because Atalanta are already expected to sell Teun Koopmeiners in the midfield, and Koopmeiners and Ederson are the two starters for Atalanta. So to sell two crucial players in the same position, in the same summer, I think it’s very unlikely.

“So there is an appreciation, it’s true, that Tottenham appreciate the player, as do many other clubs around Europe. For example, it is the same for Barcelona and other clubs in England. But at the moment, I think it’s going to be difficult to sign the player from Atalanta.
