Journalist Giorgio Dusi has now revealed in an interview that the North London club are keen on signing the midfielder along with Arsenal and Liverpool.

Dusi said (h/t Tv play): “A little bit everyone expects his departure from Atalanta at the end of the season, so his statements from the Netherlands’ training camp did not come as much of a surprise. Atalanta only want money for his transfer so they will accept the highest offer. Juve is the number one candidate but the payment discourse needs to be looked at. Perhaps some player Atalanta like, such as Iling Jr or Soulé, could be included. Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool are also interested.”

Koopmeiners has been in splendid form this season, scoring 12 goals across all competitions. He could prove to be a useful addition to Ange Postecoglou’s midfield. Spurs are lacking a goalscoring midfielder right now and the Dutchman would be the ideal fit.

The 25-year-old is likely to be keen on a move to the Premier League and Spurs could provide him with the platform to compete for trophies. He has the physical and technical attributes to adapt to English football and improve Tottenham next season.

The North London outfit are currently pushing for a top four finish and they will be an attractive destination for players if they manage to secure Champions League qualification.

The report adds that Koopmeiners will cost €60-65 million during the summer transfer window.

Meanwhile, Arsenal and Liverpool need more depth in the middle of the park as well. Koopmeiners could be an alternative to Thomas Partey, although they are different players. He will add control, creativity and goals to the side alongside Declan Rice.

At Liverpool, he could replace Thiago Alcantara, who will move on as a free agent in the summer.

The reported asking price seems like a premium and it will be interesting to see which of the three clubs decide to come forward with an official offer to sign the player.
