the ex Arsenal player makes a new claim about ange postecoglou
Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou came up with a cold response after being asked whether he pictures himself winning trophies.
Despite losing talisman harry kane in the summer, the former celtic manager has made a huge impact at Spurs and transformed them into one of the most exciting sides in the league.
Spurs were topping the table in the early stages and with a string of injuries to contend with, find themselves in fifth place – just six points off leaders Liverpool after 20 games.
The north London side lost on penalties to Fulham in the second round of the Carabao Cup, but will be hoping to do well in the FA Cup when they face Burnley on Friday night
The last time Spurs won the trophy was in 2008, and Postecoglou was asked in his latest press release whether he envisions himself wearing silverware
The 58-year-old continued his good form at a press conference, replying: “I’ve got real pictures, dude
There’s quite a few, mate
No, I look at what I’ve got
When a journalist said Mr
Postecoglou was “lucky” to have it, he added: “No, I deserve them, I’m not lucky
” was
”
Postecoglou’s trophies include league wins in Scotland, Australia and Japan, as well as the 2015 Asia Cup win on the international stage
He has won the Premier League Manager of the Month award three times so far, but he will also win a silver medal
Medals are actions
Spurs have not won a major trophy in almost his 16 years, his last victory being the League Cup under Juande Ramos
Mr Postecoglou was asked about the drought at his first press conference and immediately made an impression
“You drew a pretty dark picture
I loved this role
” he joked
“But honestly, that’s why I’m here
That’s what I love about it, everything that we don’t have here
That’s what I want to bring
I want to bring success and bring European football
” I want this club to be where it should be
