Tottenham suffer huge injury blow as key player Rule out of next clash

Tottenham’s Ryan Sessegnon has had to undergo surgery after another injury setback.

The Spurs defender is set for another stint on the sidelines after needing an operation on a new hamstring problem he picked up while playing for the under-21s. Sessegnon has been troubled by muscle injuries and had an operation on his left hamstring in the first week of pre-season training with his new boss Ange Postecoglou.

football.london understands Sessegnon’s surgery was a success and as with the operation on his left hamstring last year, the chances of a reoccurrence will now be very slim. His recovery period this time is expected to be between 10 and 12 weeks.
The 23-year-old, who was signed from Fulham in the summer of 2019, had only just made a comeback to the first team, coming on as a late substitute in the FA Cup third-round win over Burnley. Spurs have confirmed that this latest setback will mean Sessegnon needs another period of rehabilitation.
