Besiktas have been warned they should be asking for ‘at least’ £50 million for Semih Kilicsoy with Premier League quartet West Ham United, Wolves, Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur reportedly keen on the striking starlet.
The tale of Abdulkadir Omur may be something of a cautionary one for fellow Super Lig starlets with ambitions of reaching the elite. Omur was denied a £23 million move to Manchester City while still a teenager at Trabzonspor and now, years later, finds himself at Hull City after a series of injuries stalled his progress.
Semih Kilicsoy, then, may be inspired to strike while the iron is hot, and while his reputation is rising.
Tottenham and Aston Villa in Semih Kilicsoy race
Some have suggested that Besiktas will demand around £22 million for a striker who is already a first-team regular, despite the fact he doesn’t even turn 19 until August.
One-time Galatasaray goalkeeper Ahmet Bulut, however, is imploring Besiktas to hold out for far more. Double, in fact.
”Semih Kilicsoy is Turkey’s rising star,” Bulut tells Sporx.
The ex-shot-stopper likening Kilicsoy to Arda Guler, who left Galatasaray for Real Madrid for big money last summer.
“He has played in all the age groups of the national team,” Bulut adds. “I have been following him since then. (Kilicsoy could be) a second Arda Güler. Spanish clubs are already following this player and asking questions. They say his fight (to sign him) is great.
“The price should be at least 50 to 60 million euros.”
Arguably the biggest Turkish talent of his generation
Kilicsoy, an instinctive and two-footed finisher who idolises Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero, has all the potental to become a ‘world star’. That is according to one of the most successful Turkish footballers of hte modern era; ex-Atletico Madrid and Barcelona playmaker Arda Turan.
Tottenham have made quite the habit of snapping up some of Europe’s best teenage talents of late. Lucas Bergvall, Luka Vuskovic and Ashley Phillips have all joined. HITC Football understands that Copenhagen’s £20 million-rated forward Roony Bardghji is another on their radar.
