Medicals Scheduled and Jersey number Already awaits-Fabrizio Romano Shares exciting news update for Tottenham ahead of new arrival

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Gift Orban, who was heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur last summer, has now completed a switch to Lyon.

It is well documented that Spurs explored a move for Orban during last summer’s transfer window on the back of his breakthrough season at Belgian football last term but the North London club were unable to get a deal over the line.
Just a couple of days ago, Het Laatste Nieuws explained that Gent scared off Tottenham by demanding €30m (£25.8m) for the striker last summer, with the outlet explaining that the Belgian club regretted their decision to hold on to the player.

The publication added that the 21-year-old has had a significant drop off this season, having found the back of the net just three times in the Jupiler Pro League (Transfermarkt) and Gent were thus ready to sell him for a cut-price fee.

Gent Orban is off to Lyon despite Tottenham links

That has now seemingly come to pass, with Romano taking to social media to reveal that Orban will join Lyon for a deal worth €13m (£11m).

The journalist asserted that the Nigerian is expected to pen a contract with the Ligue 1 giants until 2028 after giving the green light to the move.

Spurs Web Opinion

I found it quite ridiculous that so many Spurs fans on social media were demanding that the club pay up £25m-£30m for Orban last summer and were accusing Levy of penny-pinching despite having never watched the Nigerian play a single game of football.

Unfortunately, they are not going to learn their lesson and are going to continue pretending to be experts on players based on a few YouTube videos and making up scenarios in their own heads on the reason why we missed out on different players.
