I hope to keep him, can’t let him leave Tottenham… Tottenham strong man defender demand is high but Daniel levy is ready to provide the offer as he don’t want to loose the player

Cristian Romero has suggested that London will now always be his home, even once his career has finished, in comments which may delight Tottenham Hotspur fans.

Spurs fans have learnt over the past couple of years that it is very hard to keep Cristian Romero out of the headlines, for good and bad reasons.

But those who adore the Argentinian will be pleased to know that he sees no reason to leave the capital city anytime soon, judging by comments he has now made to SWM.

Tottenham star Cristian Romero hints he wants to remain in London

Romero has been fascinating to watch during his time at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. For some, he is a liability who always has the potential to lose his head

But at his best, there is absolutely no denying that there are few better defenders in the Premier League, and perhaps the world. Of course, he was part of the Argentina side which won the World Cup last year.

Romero is also now Tottenham’s co-vice-captain alongside James Maddison. So Ange Postecoglou will definitely hope to keep him for as long as possible.

The good news is that Romero appears to have no interest in moving elsewhere.

“I’ve been fortunate enough to live in a few different cities during my career, but nothing compares to London,” he told SWM. “It’s a city with a brilliant story and, in my opinion, the world’s capital. I love the people here, the diversity and the history.

“I think London will always be home for me and my family even when my career has ended. The city will always hold a special place in my heart because my son, the most important person to me, was born here in London. We’re really happy here.”

Spurs defender has slipped back into old habits

The last few weeks have been surprising when it comes to Romero. In his first season with the club, he was sensational. But he was one of several players to struggle in the campaign after he had signed permanently.

However, just as he was being written off, Romero started to form an unbelievable partnership with Micky van de Ven at the beginning of this season.

That will give supporters hope that his recent red card against Chelsea and wild challenge on Sunday were just blips.

Certainly, it would be huge for Tottenham if they get the best of Romero over the best years of his career.
