Heung-Min Son in fitness battle to face Newcastle United & Ange Postecoglou’s strange “thank you” to Eddie Howe
Tottenham Hotspur are sweating on the fitness of Heung-Min Son going into their clash with Newcastle United today.
The South Korea superstar was forced off before the end of Spurs’ 2-1 home defeat to West Ham in the London derby on Thursday night. With Spurs still coming to terms with losing Harry Kane in the summer to Bayern Munich, the loss of Son in any game is a hammer blow for Ange Postecoglou
Postecoglou said: “We’ll see how he is because he was a bit sore after the game. “We’ll wait and see what the outcome is for Sunday.”
In the build-up to Newcastle’s visit to the capital, at a venue they won at last season, Postecoglu also tried to bring some humour to the table after both United and Spurs lost on Thursday night to Everton and West Ham. The Spurs head coach credited Eddie Howe for paving his path to the Premier League after Howe turned down Celtic in 2021 before he was able to jump in and take the job.
