Tottenham Hotspur ended their winless run with an emphatic 4-1 victory over Newcastle United on Sunday to strengthen their hopes of finishing in the UEFA Champions League places.

Destiny Udogie scored his first goal for the club in the 26th minute before Richarlison netted either side of half-time. Son Heung-min made it 4-0 from the penalty spot before Joelinton grabbed a late consolation for Newcastle.

The victory is Spurs’ first since they won 2-1 at Crystal Palace at the end of October. Ange Postecoglou’s side had gone five games without three points, picking up only one point in that period.
Spurs will now look to build on the victory, starting next Friday at struggling Nottingham Forest. Between now and the new year, the north Londoners face Everton, Brighton and in-form AFC Bournemouth.
