‘Bully’, ‘I’d be crying, too’ – Fans berate Erling Haaland as fresh Man City footage analysed
Fans have berated Erling Haaland after fresh footage emerged of his reaction to Giovani Lo Celso following Tottenham’s clash with Man City.
The back-and-forth battle at the Etihad on Sunday (3 December) ended 3-3 With Dejan Kulusevski’s 90th-minute equaliser giving Spurs their first point in four games.
However, referee Simon Hooper sparked outrage among City players in the game’s closing moments when he initially played advantage after Haaland was tackled, but pulled it back for a foul despite Jack Grealish being through on goal.
Son Heung-min opened the scoring after just six minutes but cancelled himself out soon after with an own goal before Phil Foden gave Pep Guardiola’s side the lead.
Lo Celso and Jack Grealish were next on the scoresheet before the equaliser, but the Argentine’s post-match reaction with Haaland, who failed to net and missed two chances that would likely have wrapped up the game, caught fans’ attention.
The pair collided as the Nord was walking off the pitch causing a verbal altercation which had to be forcibly stopped, and supporters have taken to social media and are not impressed with Haaland.
This fan mocked the 23-year-old as a “high school bully” and claimed Lo Celso would have had no issues with his rage.
This fan felt Haaland had no right to complain after blanking against Spurs’ weakened defence.
One fan claimed Haaland should take some finishing tips from Lo Celso following the Argentine’s cool leveller in the clash.
One supporter warned him that teams could take advantage of Haaland’s reaction.
This fan claimed the “spoilt brat” should have had his shooting boots on.
