Erling Haaland has hilariously reacted after his reaction to Simon Hooper’s controversial decision during Manchester City vs Tottenham Hotspur went viral.
City were held to a dramatic 3-3 draw at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday evening as a late Dejan Kulusevski goal denied Pep Guardiola’s men all three points.
With the match at 3-3, City were denied a late chance after referee Simon Hooper blew the whistle for a foul having originally waved play on as the hosts had the advantage.
After the match, City players, including Haaland were not pleased with the referee’s decision, with the Norwegian reacting on social media.
Since then, Haaland’s reaction to the decision has gone viral as his face has been photoshopped onto many different memes.
Now, Haaland has reacted to a meme of his reaction being photoshopped onto the famous ‘The Scream’ painting by Edvard Munch.
On social media, the City striker wrote: “Wtf that made me smile for the first time today.”
Speaking about the controversial decision, former Manchester United captain Roy Keane said on Sky Sports: “The referee has made a mistake. It’s a poor call, he’s got it wrong.
“Grealish is through on goal and credit to him, he played advantage. But he’s got that [the decision to bring it back] wrong. We can all see that.”
He added: “It’s a poor decision, but City will be critical of themselves for letting Spurs off the hook. They can’t look at the referee for that one.”
During his post-match interview, City boss Pep Guardiola was in no mood to discuss the incident.
He said: “Next question. I will not do a Mikel Arteta comment.
“It is hard when you review the image, the referee decides to blow the whistle after he has already said to play on. After the pass, the whistle, so I do not understand this action.”
