Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison would be open to leaving for Saudi Arabia if an offer comes his way early in 2024.
Saudi Arabian clubs want Richarlison and he would now consider making the decision to leave Tottenham Hotspur.
That is according to UOL Esporte over in Brazil, as they report that Richarlison is ‘one of the main targets’ for Saudi clubs.
Richarlison joined Tottenham in a £60million deal in 2022 – a deal which Everton are now seemingly unhappy with after their 10-point deduction.
The Brazilian hasn’t really lived up to the price tag though and he may now be tempted to leave Tottenham in January.
Richarlison could leave Tottenham for Saudi Arabia
UOL Esporte in Richarlison’s native Brazil now report that the striker is ‘not that tied’ to Tottenham right now.
Saudi Arabian clubs are sniffing around, although the identities of those clubs is currently unclear.
It’s stated that Richarlison doesn’t see his situation at Tottenham changing in the coming months having lost his place in the team.
Brennan Johnson is featuring on the left flank right now and Son Heung-min is pretty settled as Tottenham’s striker.
That makes it difficult for Richarlison to get into the side and he is allegedly willing to consider the move to Saudi Arabia in January.
Ange Postecoglou has praised Richarlison
Tottenham will be disappointed if Richarlison moves on; they paid big money for him and haven’t seen the ideal returns yet.
Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has spoken highly of Richarlison too, calling him a ‘fantastic footballer’ back in September.
Postecoglou offered support to Richarlison as he shared details about his mental health, with Spurs fans rallying behind him.
The 26-year-old has only managed one goal this season though and having a £60million player on the bench just doesn’t work for a team like Tottenham.
If Saudi clubs do approach Tottenham in January, we wouldn’t be surprised to see Tottenham cash in and reinvest elsewhere.
