Contact made and Deal settled: Tottenham Hotspur set to shock fans by signing Outrageous Seria A midfielder in January ,many never see it coming

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Juventus defender Gleison Bremer in recent weeks.

According to Italian outlet CalciomercatoSpurs “remain on the lookout” with regards to the 26-year-old.

Now, Bremer himself has given an interview to The Telegraph where he talks about his love of the Premier League.

The Brazil international says he “would like to” play in the English top flight at some point in his career.

However, in a blow to Spurs, Bremer insists he’s happy at Juve for the time being.
“I like La Liga and the Premier League,” said the reported Tottenham target, who described himself as an “aggressive” defender.

“But the Premier League is a very exciting championship and I watch a lot of matches and they are very entertaining.

“One day I would like to play in the Premier League but right now I am focused on Juventus and winning trophies with them, we are one of the best teams in the world.”

As well as Tottenham, the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United are also keen on Bremer, who has been impressing for the Serie A giants.

Spurs eyeing defender ‘comparable to Virgil van Dijk’

It’s no surprise that Spurs are reportedly trying to sign Bremer. After all, he’s a world-class defender in his prime.

In 2022, he was the Serie A Defender of the Year, and last term, he made it into their Team of the Season.

Last year, scouting outlet Foot The Ball noted how Bremer’s numbers were ‘comparable to Virgil van Dijk and Ruben Dias’.

He’s an elite presser of the ball, is great at recovery, interceptions and aerial duels, and is threatening at the other end of the pitch too.

FTB added that Bremer is ‘a true Serie A defender. He can tackle, intercept, and clear the ball without any fuss.’

However, Spurs may have to look elsewhere for defenders who can bolster their ranks in January.

Not only is he in no rush to leave, but his reported price tag is pretty steep.

Earlier this year, Il Bianconero reported that the Italian giants have placed a €80million (£69million) price tag on the Brazilian. That may well have gone up further now.
