Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that Ange Postecoglou was furiously shouting at his players to get up the pitch during the first half of the clash against Wolves on Saturday.
Unsurprisingly, Tottenham’s performance at Molineux Stadium was their most lacklustre of the season so far, with the Lilywhites struggling to create chances
Although Spurs fans would have been heartbroken with the dramatic nature of the defeat, with Wolves scoring two goals in stoppage time, they cannot argue against the fact the home side were full value for their win.
Postecoglou admitted in his post-match press conference that he felt his players could have been more aggressive in possession, particularly in the first half, but he acknowledged that he could not question their attitude and their commitment
Ange Postecoglou wanted Spurs further up the pitch
Gold has now revealed that the Australian was repeatedly shouting at his players to close down the opposition.
The journalist explains that he screamed ‘get up’ so loudly that it stunned the home fans sitting directly behind the Tottenham dugout.
Gold adds that Postecoglou spent much of the first half frantically waving at his players to get up the pitch.
