Ian Wright says Yves Bissouma has made his first mistake as a Tottenham Hotspur player under Ange Postecoglou.
The legendary striker thinks the Antonio Conte signing was ‘silly’ for getting a second yellow card for diving during Tottenham’s win over Luton Town.
Whilst Spurs went on to win that game, Ian Wright warned that against a far better team, they would have got punished.
Either way, Wright thinks it’s Yves Bissouma’s first mistake under Ange Postecoglou because he has been ‘outstanding’ so far this season, as he told Premier League Productions (09/10/23 at 2:30 pm).
Upon the return of domestic football after the international break, the Mali star will miss the visit of Fulham for Monday Night Football.
Spurs are unbeaten after eight games and are sitting top of the Premier League table.

Yves Bissouma’s dive
“Ange Postecoglou will be saying ‘you can’t get sent off for that’,” said Wright. “Not with what Tottenham are trying to do because, against another team, it could have cost them.
“Apart from that silly dive that he did. He has been outstanding this season. He is one of the major parts as to why they are ticking and doing so well.”
Tottenham’s midfield
It’s almost hard to believe that Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr were part of the Spurs team that conceded five inside 20 minutes at Newcastle United not so long ago.
In fact, a number of the current players were part of that squad, yet it’s a different world now.
Postecoglou deserves huge credit for this turnaround because he has lifted the mood across the whole club.
