Just in!! Marcus Rashford explain how to fix Manchester United attack against Tottenham

Marcus Rashford has already told Erik ten Hag his best Manchester United position is on the left as the Reds seek to find their attacking fluency.

The forward started through the middle against Wolves with Rasmus Hojlund sidelined due to injury. Rashford had a quiet game and was unable to get into the match as Raphael Varane’s goal secured the win for United.

Rashford has played in that role for Ten Hag frequently but has undoubtedly shown his best form from the left. However, with Anthony Martial’s chequered fitness record, he has been forced to play as a striker

Speaking to Gary Neville on The Overlap last month, Rashford explained his positional preference. Considering United’s struggles against Wolves, Ten Hag may well take this into account when the Reds face Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.

“Left-wing,” Rashford said when asked about his best position. “Although I feel like centre-forward you’ve got less distance to cover to score simple goals, I do prefer left.

“Left is easier to stay in the game, and from when I was young I’ve always wanted to be involved in the game. That’s why I struggle to play centre-forward sometimes, because of my patience.

“You might not touch the ball for 20 minutes, and then your first touch might be an opportunity to score. You have to be mentally switched on. I never enjoyed that aspect of it, but as I’ve got older I’ve started to enjoy it a little bit more to play up there.”
